“At this stage in my life I found what I love to do, it is never too late to dream big.”

"Step out on faith, that is what I did and the end results have been extremely rewarding. I obtained over twelve years as a Logistics Professional and Certified Quality Manager, in the third-party logistics industry, who also happened to dabble in IT. Over the years of crunching data, performing analysis and Crystal Report writing, I realized the deep love I had for all things “User Experience”. My husband shared The Clubhou.se advertisement for the next Code Boot Camp course with me and we jumped at the opportunity for me to grow in that field. While attending the Code Boot Camp, many influencers guided and coached us future developers along the way. We had a great instructor, the resources of Augusta Technical College, and experts in the industry as guest speakers. The Boot Camp also allowed us insightful excursions to several of the local supporters of the program so we could gain a day in the life of a developer experience. One of those field trips introduced me to Rural Sourcing Inc., where I now work in the Database Practice."

At this stage in my life I found what I love to do, it is never too late to dream big.

“Hearing the industry partners talk and touring their businesses gave me a real hope and desire to pursue a career as a web developer.”

"Have you ever felt like you didn't have a place to belong? That is where I have been my entire life. Due to my ADHD, I was never settled in school and had a difficult time learning. I was working a dead end job, barely making enough to pay rent. There's no way I would have been able to take the class without funding from WIOA. I signed up for the class not knowing what to expect. Having dabbled in coding before class, I was hopeful, but concerned that my ADHD would keep me from truly learning. I was wrong. The class structure was perfect for me!  I achieved my dream a few months ago when I was accepted as a Java Developer for RSI."

“The bootcamp and its environment has set me up to go farther than I ever could have. I am a big proponent of the establishment and hope that many others like me find what I have found in it – opportunity.”

Daniel Simpson is a writer and tech support analyst. He works in Augusta, where he provides customer service and IT troubleshooting. He has a degree in math and computer science from USC Aiken and has been a programmer analyst and web developer in the past. Daniel learned web development skills at the Clubhouse in the boot camp that weren’t taught to him while he was is school. He was aware of the clubhouses reputation and had attended some of our events before he enrolled in the program. After learning about it, Daniel jumped at the opportunity to expand his skills in our code boot camp along with many others.

Daniels biggest take away was meeting like-minded people who have helped him on his journey to success. Through our program he was able to join an app development team and become more marketable for his job search, which is what he wanted going into the program. His great work in the program and with his team allowed him to gain a referral and obtain a job he currently holds. Daniel also has a great passion for writing, so he built a website where he posts his articles as well as his fiction. It brings Daniel pleasure knowing what he is capable of and that it is going to help him for the rest of his career.
